Setting The Record Straight on Islam and Christianity

Divinity

Jesus not a Universal Teacher

Ascension

The Bible does not approve the idea that Jesus ascended to heaven. There is a strong possibility that some words were changed when the gospels were written very many years after Jesus. There is also the possibility that after the incident of crucifixion the disciples might have used some phraseology having dual meaning, so that people would not know that Jesus was living, and would not try again to kill him. It is possible that later followers might not have understood this phraseology and were led to misrepresent the fact.

Miracles

According to the Bible, Jesus had many miracles and this proves that he was God and that the Bible is True. On closer inspection we find Prophets like Moses having equal in grandeur miracles and Prophets like Elijah having Miracles exceeding those of Chirst.

Prehuman Existence

War

The synopsis is if Jesus was God then he told the Jews an entirely different conception of God but God is the same so one of 2 things must be true. Either Jesus is God and the Jews were told a false conception of God according to Christians or Jesus is not God as it is inconsistent in God's telling of his own attributes

The nature of God is one of the few areas of abstract Jewish belief where there are a number of clear-cut ideas about which there is little dispute or disagreement.

God Exists
The fact of God's existence is accepted almost without question. Proof is not needed, and is rarely offered. The Torah begins by stating "In the beginning, God created . . .". It does not tell who God is or how He came to be. In general, Judaism views the existence of God as a necessary prerequisite for the existence of the universe. The existence of the universe is sufficient proof of the existence of God.

God is One
One of the primary expressions of Jewish faith, recited twice daily in prayer, is the Shema, which begins "Hear, Israel: the LORD is our God, the LORD is one". This simple statement encompasses several different ideas:

(A) There is only one God.
  1. No other being participated in the work of creation.
  2. God is a unity. He is a single, whole, complete indivisible entity. He cannot be divided into parts or described by attributes.
  3. Any attempt to ascribe attributes to God is merely man's imperfect attempt to understand the infinite.
  4. 4.God is the only being to whom we should offer praise. The Shema can also be translated as "the LORD is our God, the LORD alone", meaning that no other is our God, and we should not pray to any other.

(B)God is the Creator of Everything
Everything in the universe was created by God, and only by God. Judaism completely rejects the dualistic notion that evil was created by a Satan or some other deity. All comes from God. As Isaiah said, "I am the LORD, and there is none else. I form the light and create darkness, I make peace and create evil. I am the LORD, that does all these things" (Isaiah 45,6-7).

(C) God is Incorporeal
Although many places in scripture and Talmud speak of various parts of God's body (the Hand of God, God's wings, etc.) or speak of God in anthropomorphic terms (God walking in the garden of Eden, God laying tefillin, etc.), Judaism firmly maintains that God has no body. Any reference to God's body is simply a figure of speech, a means of making God's actions more comprehensible to beings living in a material world. Much of Maimonides' Guide for the Perplexed is devoted to explaining each of these anthropomorphic references and proving that they should be understood figuratively.

Jews are forbidden to represent God in a physical form. That is considered idolatry. According to Jews, the sin of the Golden Calf incident was not that the people chose another deity, but that they tried to represent God in a physical form.

(D) God is Neither Male nor Female
This followed directly from the idea that God has no physical form. God has, of course, no body; therefore, the very idea that God is male or female is patently absurd. We refer to God using masculine terms simply for convenience's sake, because Hebrew has no neutral gender; God is no more male than a table is.

Jews say that although they usually speak of God in masculine terms, there are times when they refer to God using feminine terms. The Shechinah, the manifestation of God's presence that fills the universe, is conceived of in feminine terms, and the word Shechinah is a feminine word.

(E) God is Omnipresent
God is always near for us to call upon and He sees all that we do, wherever we are. Closely tied in with this is the idea that God is universal: He is not just the God of the Jews, but the God of all nations.

(F) God is Omnipotent
God can do anything. It is said that the only thing that is beyond His control is the fear of Him; that is, He has given us free will, and He does not compel us to do His will. This belief in God's omnipotence has been sorely tested during the many persecutions of Jews, but we have always maintained that God has a reason for allowing these things, even if we in our limited perception and understanding cannot see the reason.

(G) God is Omniscient
God knows all things, past, present, and future. He knows our thoughts. Jesus(pbuh) in the Bible admits he is not Omniscient.

"But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only."(Matthew 24:36)

(H) God is Eternal
God transcends time. He has no beginning and no end. He will always be there to fulfill His promises. When Moses asked for God's name, He replied, "Ehyeh asher ehyeh". That phrase is generally translated as, "I am that I am", but the word "ehyeh" can be present or future tense, meaning "I am what I will be" or "I will be what I will be". The ambiguity of the phrase is often interpreted as a reference to God's eternal nature.

(I) God is Both Just and Merciful

We have often heard Christians speak of Judaism as the religion of the strict Law, which no human being is good enough to fulfill (hence the need for the so-called sacrifice of Jesus). This is a gross mischaracterization of Jewish belief. Judaism has always maintained that God's justice is tempered by mercy, the two qualities perfectly balanced. Of the two Names of God most commonly used in scripture, one refers to his quality of justice and the other to his quality of mercy. The two names were used together in the story of Creation, showing that the world was created with both justice and mercy.

(J) God is Holy and Perfect
One of the most common names applied to God in the post-Biblical period is "Ha-Kadosh, Barukh Hu", The Holy One, Blessed be He.

(K)God is our Father
Christianity maintains that God has one son; Judaism maintains that God has billions of sons and daughters. We are all God's children, and the people of Israel are His firstborn (Exodus 4:22). The Talmud teaches that there are three participants in the formation of every human being: the mother and father, who provide the physical form, and God, who provides the soul, the personality, and the intelligence. It is said that one of God's greatest gifts to humanity is the knowledge that we are His children and created in His image.

According to Mark the people called Jesus a demon while being  possesed by a demon and driving out demons.

Mark 3:22 New International Version (NIV) 22 And the teachers of the law who came down from Jerusalem said, “He is possessed by Beelzebul! By the prince of demons he is driving out demons.”

Then Jesus(pbuh) disproves the trinity by saying how can satan drive out satan. Like wise how can God forsake God? How can God pray to God? How can God not listen to God? How can God crucify God?

Mark 3:23 New International Version (NIV) 23 So Jesus called them over to him and began to speak to them in parables: “How can Satan drive out Satan?

How can God forsake God? Isa(a.s) stated on the cross "Eli Eli Lama Sabacthani" meaning "God, God why hast thou forsaken me?"

Mark 3:24 New International Version (NIV) 24 If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.

Mark 3:25 New International Version (NIV) 25 If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

The Christian God is divided against itself and has different thoughts and wishes which contradict each other, that perception of God can not stand.

Mark 3:26 New International Version (NIV) 26 And if Satan opposes himself and is divided, he cannot stand; his end has come.

And if the Christian God opposes himself(by crucifying himself, not listening to his own prayers, and forsaking

Atonement

The Promised Messiah states:
"The very first brick of religion is to recognise God. Until that foundation is wellplaced, how can other deeds be pure? The Christians raise countless allegations against the inner-purity of others and they raise these objections whilst believing in a morally damaging concept such as atonement. I cannot understand how there can be any fear of accountability before Allah Almighty if one believes in the concept of atonement. Do the Christians not believe that the Messiah was tormented to repay for our sins to the extent that he was deemed accursed and remained in hell for three days? If with this concept there is punishment for sin, then what purpose does the Atonement serve? The very doctrine of atonement encourages sin. It is a matter of principle that the doctrine to which a person subscribes has a deep effect on them. One may observe that in the estimation of the Hindus the cow is immensely holy and sacred. The effect of this among the Hindus is to such an extent that even the urine and dung of a cow is deemed pure and used for purification. Their passion for the cow exceeds all bounds and this is the very reason that they have made this concept a part of their fundamental belief. Remember that fundamental beliefs are like a mother and deeds are the resulting offspring. When the Messiah serves as an atonement and he has taken upon himself the sins of those who believe, what reason is left for people to refrain from sin? It is astonishing that when Christians speak of the concept of atonement, they begin their discourse from the mercy and justice of God Almighty. But I would ask, if one person is hung for the crime of another, then what justice and mercy remains? If it is proclaimed as doctrine that Christ has taken upon himself the burden of all sins—even those sins which are yet to be committed—then what reason is there for anyone to abstain from sin? If the teaching was that this atonement was limited to the Christians of that era, then this would have been another matter; but when it is accepted that Christ has taken with him the burden of the sins of even those who shall be born until the Day of Resurrection, and he accepted punishment for this purpose, then how unjust is it to seize a sinner? In fact, to punish an innocent person in the place of a sinner is injustice in the first place. But further still, the second injustice is to first place the burden of sin on Christ and give sinners the good news that he has shouldered their sins, yet punishing those who then commit sin. This is some strange deception, which the Christians will never be able to explain."(Malfuzat pg 181-182)

Atonement-Led to decline of the Christians and surrounding people groups.

The fact of the matter is when Yassu Masih has died for all your sins then you can sin asmuch as you like without fear of the afterlife. This leads to a cycle of people becoming worse and worse instead of better. Is this what Yassu was sent for? To ruin the Jews and the surrounding people(Arabs)? The fact of the matter is that Atonement has led to Christians having a free pass for sin. It makes no sense why Christians act averse to sins like homosexuality when we already know Yassu has died for their sins. This doctrine of atonement can not be from God seeing as it ruins people rather than reforms them.

The Reason for the Decline of the Christians
Hadrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani (as) states:

"The ignorant Christians have deified a weak and humble man and have placed the burden of their sins and vices on his shoulders. They have admitted that he was accursed. Even though the Christians have nothing on their hands but curse, they raise allegations against others. As they have rejected the holy Law of God Almighty on account of the Atonement, they no longer enjoy the pleasure and joy that is present in good deeds. Since they have labelled all the pious people of God Almighty as thieves and robbers, they have been smitten with curse. Therefore, one must never forget that to reject and deny the virtuous people of God Almighty destroys an individual and is a lethal poison for one’s spiritual powers and faculties. One who thinks ill of the truthful and disrespects them is deprived of divine verities and insights. The curse that has fallen upon the Christians is that they have deemed all those who are virtuous to be sinful. Therefore, the subtle insight in this verse is that the rains follows a fixed system and people are able to determine when the rainy days draw near. For example, the people know that it rains from mid-December to mid-February and also from mid-July to mid-September. Then, another secret is that it never rains needlessly. In fact, rainfall always occurs at a time that is best suited for it. The phenomenon of spiritual rain also functions in the same manner and this is a discussion which relates to a conceptual matter. Hence, in this context, God Almighty has put forth physically apparent phenomena to serve as a witness and has employed the use of an oath to take the place of a witness. Furthermore, God Almighty has used this word in exactly the same manner that He uses the word ‘loan’, as I have just mentioned."(Malfuzat Page 233)
Belief in the Atonement Emboldens a Person to Commit Sin

Hadrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani(as) states:
If someone were to assert that belief in the Atonement enables a person to attain salvation from a life of sin, and the propensity to commit sin no longer remains within them, then this is a statement with no proof at all. For there is sin at the very root of this concept. The strength to abstain from sin comes from a fear of accountability to God. But how can there be any fear of accountability when it is accepted that Christ has taken upon himself the burden of our sins? From this, I conclude that a person who subscribes to such a concept can never be Godfearing, because they would deem unnecessary all such actions that have their basis in principles of fear of God. One ought to remember well that inner-purity always begins with concepts, if not:

The impurity of one’s heart is not noticeable until many years have passed.

Then we should also observe what practical examples of inner-purity have been demonstrated by those who subscribe to the concept of atonement. The sinful actions of people in Europe are known to all. Alcohol, which is the mother of crimes and the mother of evils, is so heavily consumed that its likeness is difficult to find in any other country. I read in a newspaper that if all the liquor-stores in London were arranged in a line, they would extend to a distance of 75 miles. Christians ought to reflect and tell us that when they have been given a certificate for the pardoning of sin, and any sin they commit is deemed forgiven, what shall be the result of such a concept? If, God forbid, we subscribed to such a doctrine, this would have an immensely detrimental effect upon us. The lower self which incites the soul to evil is always in search of something to lean back on. Similarly, the Shias have fallen back on Imam Husayn, may Allah be pleased with him, and they say whatever they please, hiding behind the concept of taqiyyah. Due to this concept of taqiyyah and the belief regarding the sacrifice of Imam Husaynra, I can confidently say that very few God-fearing people exist among the Shias. Khalifah Muhammad Hasan writes that the verse 1 ْ ٍم ْ ٍحَ ع ِظي ْ ٰـنُهِ ب ِذب ديَف)َWe ransomed him with a great sacrifice) in the Quran speaks of the martyrdom of Imam Husaynra and he is overjoyed by this point, as if he has discovered the essence of the Holy Quran. His ‘ingenuity’ reminds me of the story about the foolish man. As the story goes, a foolish man had a water pot with a hole in it. Whenever he would go to answer the call of nature, before he could manage to relieve himself and then subsequently clean himself, all the water would drain out of his pot. Finally, after many days of thought and reflection, the bright solution that he came up with was that he began to clean himself with the water first, before relieving himself; and he was very pleased with his solution. Khalifah Muhammad Hasan has come up with an insight and solution that is as clever as this foolish man when he derives that the verse 2 ْ ٍم ْ ٍحَ ع ِظي ْ ٰـنُهِ ب ِذب ديَف) َWe ransomed him with a great sacrifice) speaks of the martyrdom of Imam Husaynra. The Shias cannot so much as keep their mosques clean. I used to have a Shia teacher, and dogs would come and urinate and defecate in the mosque. I do not remember anyone ever praying in that mosque. The Shias claim that Imam Husaynra and the household of the Holy Prophet sa were martyred for their sake, and to weep in grief for them and to mourn for them is sufficient. No other deeds are required except these to enter paradise. In the same way, the Christians say that the blood of the Messiah has guaranteed their salvation. Now my question is that if such people are going to be questioned and punished for committing sin, then what sort of salvation is guaranteed to them? In actuality, a concept of this nature brings with it an immensely evil effect. If this belief did not exist, sin and impiety would not be so rampant in various countries within Europe, and such a flood of illicit behaviour would not surge forth as is the case at present. One may go and observe the indecency at hotels and parks in London and Paris and ask those who return from these places. Every other day the newspapers publish the names of illegitimate children in lists. (Malfuzat pg 182-184)
Atonement Contradicts the Law of Nature

Hadrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani(as) states:

"It is doctrine that I focus on. Our doctrine states
(az-Zilzal, 99:8) فَمَنۡ یَّعۡمَلۡ مِثۡقَالَ ذَرَّۃٍ خَیۡرًا یَّرَہٗ

Theb whoso does an atom’s weight of good will see it

Now you may conclude for yourself what effect such a concept would bring about. Man will feel the need for action and endeavour to perform good deeds. Contrary to this, when it is asserted that man cannot attain salvation through his deeds, such a belief will weaken the resolve and effort of a person and will make them helpless out of despair. This also demonstrates that the concept of atonement abuses the human faculties, because Allah the Exalted has vested the human faculties with a nature inclined to progress, but the concept of atonement prevents the human faculties from advancing. I have just stated that we observe freedom and lack of restraint among those who believe in the doctrine of atonement, and it is due to this very concept that people engage in illicit relations, as though they were dogs. Acts of indecency are committed openly in London’s Hyde Park and illegitimate children are born. Hence, we must not confine ourselves to mere words and statements, but rather, we must give importance to deeds. An individual who sees no benefit in deeds is immensely short-sighted and ignorant. Within the law of nature there are examples of actions which result in outcomes, but there is no example of anything that resembles the Atonement. For example, if someone is hungry, their hunger is satisfied after eating; or if someone is thirsty, their thirst is quenched with water. This demonstrates that the final outcome of eating or drinking is that one’s thirst and hunger are satisfied. But never does it occur that one person’s hunger is satisfied if someone else eats bread on their behalf. If there was any such precedent in the law of nature, then perhaps there might have been room to accept the concept of atonement. However, when no such parallel exists in the law of nature, how can man, who is accustomed to accepting things through the observance of parallels, give credence to such a concept? There is no such precedent even in manmade laws. We have never witnessed that one person should commit murder and someone else is executed in their stead. Therefore, this concept of atonement is one which has no parallel."(Malfuzat pg 184-185)

Comparative Religious Teachings on War and Peace

Many Christians and people of other religions try attack Islam about our stance on war but what comes to light is that they have the same or worse stances in their own religion.

Hazrat Mirza Bashir-ud-Din Mahmud Ahmad (May God be pleased with him) states:

Teaching of Judaism and Christianity about War
"The question … arises – Can it ever be right to fight for a faith? Let us, therefore, turn to this question.

The teaching of religion on the subject of war takes different forms… Moses is commanded to enter the land of Canaan by force, to defeat its population and to settle his own people in it (Deut. 20:10-18). In spite of this teaching in the Book of Moses, and in spite of its reinforcement by practical example of the Prophets Joshua, David and others, Jews and Christians continue to hold their Prophets in reverence and to regard their books as the Books of God.

At the end of the Mosaic tradition, we had Jesus who taught;
But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also (Matthew 5-39).

Christians have often cited this teaching of Jesus and argued that Jesus preached against war. But in the New Testament, we have passages which purport to teach quite the opposite. One passage, for instance, says:
Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword (Matthew 10:34).

And another passage says:
Then said he unto them. But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one (Luke 22:36).

Of the three verses the last two contradict the first. If Jesus came for war, why did he teach about turning the other cheek? It seems we have either to admit a contradiction in the New Testament, or we have to explain one of the contradictory teachings in a suitable manner. We are not concerned here with the question whether turning the other cheek can ever be practicable. We are concerned only to point out that, throughout their long history, no Christian people have ever hesitated to make war. When Christians first attained to power in Rome, they took part in wars both defensive and aggressive. They are dominant powers in the world today, and they continue to take part in wars both defensive and aggressive. Only now the side which wins is canonized by the rest of the Christian world. Their victory is said to be the victory of Christian civilization. Christian civilization has come to mean whatever tends to be dominant and successful. When two Christian powers go to war, each claims to be the protector of Christian ideals. The power which wins is canonized as the true Christian power. It is true, however, that from the time of Jesus to our time, Christendom has been involved-and indications are that it will continue to remain involved-in war. The practical verdict of the Christian peoples, therefore, is that war is the real teaching of the New Testament, and that turning the other cheek was either an opportunist teaching dictated by the helplessness of early Christians, or it is meant to apply only to individuals, not to States and peoples.

Secondly, even if we assume that Jesus taught peace and not war, it does not follow that those who do not act upon this teaching are not holy and honored. For Christendom has ever revered exponents of war such as Moses, Joshua and David. Not only this, the Church itself has canonized national heroes who suffered in wars. They were made saints by the Popes."(Life of Muhammad ﷺ pg 106-108)

Comparative Religious Teachings on War and Peace

Comparative Religious Teachings on War and Peace
The Quranic teachings are superior to the teachings found in other faiths. Islam gives a comprehensive way to handle things.

Hazrat Mirza Bashir-ud-Din Mahmud Ahmad (May God be pleased with him) states:
THE QURAN ON WAR AND PEACE
"The teaching of Islam is different from both these teachings. It strikes a mean between the two. Islam does not teach aggression as did Moses. Nor does it, like present-day (and presumably corrupt) Christianity, preach a contradiction. It does not ask us to turn the other cheek and at the same time to sell our clothes to buy a sword. The teaching of Islam fits into the natural instincts of man, and promotes peace in the only possible way.

Islam forbids aggression, but it urges us to fight if failure to fight jeopardizes peace and promotes war. If failure to fight means the extirpation of free belief and of the search of truth, it is our duty to fight. This is the teaching on which peace can ultimately be built, and this is the teaching on which the Prophet based his own policies and his practice. The Prophet suffered continuously and consistently at Mecca but did not fight the aggression of which he was an innocent victim. When he escaped to Medina, the enemy was out to extirpate Islam; it was, therefore, necessary to fight the enemy in defense of truth and freedom of belief.

We quote below the passages in the Quran which bear on the subject of war.
(1) In 22:40-42 we have:
Permission to fight is given to those against whom war is made, because they have been wronged-and Allah indeed has power to help them-Those who have been driven out from their homes unjustly only because they said, “Our Lord is Allah”-And if Allah did not repel some men by means of others, there would surely have been pulled down cloisters and churches and synagogues and mosques, wherein the name of Allah is oft commemorated. And Allah will surely help one who helps Him. Allah is indeed Powerful, Mighty.-Those who, if We establish them in the earth, will observe Prayer and pay the Zakat and enjoin good and forbid evil. And with Allah rests the final issue of all affairs.

The verse purports to say that permission to fight is given to the victims of aggression. God is well able to help the victims-those who have been driven out of their homes because of their beliefs. The permission is wise because, if God were not to repel the cruel with the help of the righteous, there would be no freedom of faith and worship in the world. God must help those who help to establish freedom of worship. It follows that fighting is permitted when a people have suffered long from wanton aggression-when the aggressor has had no cause for aggression and he seeks to interfere with the religion of his victim. The duty of the victim, if and when he attains to power, is to establish religious freedom and to protect all religions and all religious places. His power is to be used not for his own glorification, but for the care of the poor, the progress of the country and the general promotion of peace. This teaching is as unexceptionable as it is clear and precise. It proclaims the fact that early Muslims took to war because they were constrained to do so. Aggressive wars were forbidden by Islam. Muslims are promised political power, but are warned that this power must be used not for self-aggrandizement, but for the amelioration of the poor and the promotion of peace and progress.

(2) In (2:191-194) we have:
And fight in the cause of Allah against those who fight against you, but do not transgress. Surely, Allah loves not transgressors. And kill them wherever you meet them and drive them out from where they have driven you out; for persecution is worse than killing. And fight them not in, and near, the Sacred Mosque until they fight you, then fight them: such is the requital for the disbelievers. But if they desist, then surely Allah is Most Forgiving, Merciful. And fight them until there is no persecution, and religion is professed for Allah. But if they desist, then remember that no hostility is allowed except against the aggressors.

Fighting is to be for the sake of God, not for our own sake or out of anger or aggrandizement, and even fighting is to be free from excesses, for excesses are displeasing to God. Fighting is between parties of combatants. Assaults on individuals are forbidden. Aggression against a religion is to be met by active resistance, for such aggression is worse than bloodshed. Muslims are not to fight near the Sacred Mosque, unless an attack is first made by the enemy. Fighting near the Sacred Mosque interferes with the public right of pilgrimage. But if the enemy attacks, Muslims are free to reply, this being the just reward of aggression. But if the enemy desists, Muslims must desist also, and forgive and forget the past. Fighting is to continue so long as religious persecution lasts and religious freedom is not established. Religion is for God. The use of force or pressure in religion is wrong. If the Kafirs desist from it and make religion free, Muslims are to desist from fighting the Kafirs. Arms are to be taken up against those who commit excesses. When excesses cease, fighting must cease also.

Categorically, we may say, the verses teach the following rules:
  1. War is to be resorted to only for the sake of God and not for the sake of any selfish motives, not for aggrandizement or for the advancement of any other interests.
  2. We can go to war only against one who attacks us first.
  3. We can fight only those who fight against us. We cannot fight against those who take no part in warfare.
  4. Even after the enemy has initiated the attack, it is our duty to keep warfare within limits. To extend the war, either territorially or in respect of weapons used, is wrong.
  5. We are to fight only a regular army charged by the enemy to fight on his side. We are not to fight others on the enemy side.
  6. In warfare immunity is to be afforded to all religious rites and observances. If the enemy spares the places where religious ceremonies are held, then Muslims also must desist from fighting in such places.
  7. If the enemy uses a place of worship as a base for attack, then Muslims may return the attack. No blame will attach to them if they do so. No fighting is allowed even in the neighborhood of religious places. To attack religious places and to destroy them or to do any kind of harm to them is absolutely forbidden. A religious place used as a base of operations may invite a counter-attack. The responsibility for any harm done to the place will then rest with the enemy, not with Muslims.
  8. If the enemy realizes the danger and the mistake of using a religious place as a base, and changes the battle-front, then Muslims must conform to the change. The fact that the enemy started the attack from a religious place is not to be used as an excuse for attacking that place. Out of reverence Muslims must change their battle-front as soon as the enemy does so.
  9. Fighting is to continue only so long as interference with religion and religious freedom lasts. When religion becomes free and interference with it is no longer permitted and the enemy declares and begins to act accordingly, then there is to be no war, even if it is the enemy who starts it.
(3) In 8:39-41 we have:
Say to those who disbelieve, if they desist, that which is past will be forgiven them; and if they return thereto, then verily the example of the former people has already gone before them. And fight them until there is no persecution and religion is wholly for Allah. But if they desist, then surely Allah is Watchful of what they do. And if they turn their backs, then know that Allah is your Protector. What an excellent Protector and what an excellent Helper.

That is to say, wars have been forced upon Muslims. But if the enemy desists, it is the duty of Muslims to desist also, and forgive the past. But if the enemy does not desist and attacks Muslims again and again, then he should remember the fate of the enemies of earlier Prophets. Muslims are to fight, while religious persecution lasts, and so long as religion is not for God and interference in religious matters is not abandoned. When the aggressor desists, Muslims are to desist also. They are not to continue the war because the enemy believes in a false religion. The value of beliefs and actions is well known to God and He will reward them as He pleases. Muslims have no right to meddle with another people’s religion even if that religion seems to them to be false. If after an offer of peace the enemy continues to make war, then Muslims may be sure of victory even though their numbers are small. For God will help them and who can help better than God?

These verses were revealed in connection with the Battle of Badr. This battle was the first regular fight between Muslims and disbelievers. In it Muslims were the victims of unprovoked aggression. The enemy had chosen to disturb the peace of Medina and of the territory around. In spite of this, victory went to the Muslims and important leaders of the enemy were killed. To retaliate against such unprovoked aggression seems natural, just and necessary. Yet Muslims are taught to stop fighting as soon as the enemy ceases it. All that the enemy is required to concede is freedom of belief and worship.

(4) In 8:62-63 we have:
And if they incline towards peace, incline thou also towards it, and put thy trust in Allah. Surely, it is He Who is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. And if they intend to deceive thee, then surely Allah is sufficient for thee. He it is Who has strengthened thee with His help and with the believers.

That is to say, if in the course of a battle the disbelievers at any time incline towards peace, Muslims are to accept the offer at once and to make peace. Muslims are to do so even at the risk of being deceived. They are to put their trust in God. Cheating will not avail against Muslims, who rely on the help of God. Their victories are due not to themselves but to God. In the darkest and most difficult times, God has stood by the Prophet and his followers. So will He stand by them against cheats. An offer of peace is to be accepted. It is not to be rejected on the plea that it may only be a ruse with which the enemy seeks to gain time for a fresh attack.

The stress on peace in the verses is not without significance. It anticipates the peace which the Prophet signed at Hudaibiya. The Prophet is warned that a time will come when the enemy will sue for peace. The offer is not to be turned down on the ground that the enemy was the aggressor and had committed excesses, or that he cannot be trusted. The straight path inculcated by Islam requires a Muslim to accept an offer of peace. Both piety and policy make the acceptance desirable.

(5) In 4:95 we have:
O ye who believe! when you go forth in the cause of Allah, make proper investigation and say not to anyone who greets you with the greeting of peace, “Thou art not a believer.” You seek the goods of this life, but with Allah are good things in plenty. Such were you before this, but Allah conferred His favor on you; so do make proper investigation. Surely, Allah is well aware of what you do.

That is to say, when Muslims go out for war, they are to make sure that the unreasonableness of war has been explained to the enemy and that he still wants war. Even so, if a proposal of peace is received from an individual or a group, Muslims are not to turn it down on the plea that it is not honest. If Muslims turn down proposals of peace, they will not be fighting for God, but for self-aggrandizement and worldly gain. Just as religion comes from God, worldly gain and glory also come from Him. Killing is not to be the aim. One whom we wish to kill today may be guided tomorrow. Could Muslims have become Muslims if they had not been spared? Muslims are to abstain from killing because lives spared may turn out to be lives guided. God is well aware of what men do and to what ends and with what motives they do it.

The verse teaches that even after war has begun, it is the duty of Muslims to satisfy themselves that the enemy is bent upon aggression. It often happens that no aggression is intended but that out of excitement and fear the enemy has started preparations for war. Unless Muslims are satisfied that an aggressive attack has been planned by the enemy, they are not to go to war. If it turns out, or if the enemy claims, that his preparations are for self-defense, Muslims are to accept the claim and desist from war. They are not to argue that the enemy preparations point to nothing but aggression; maybe he intended aggression, but his intention has changed. Are not intentions and motives continually changing? Did not enemies of Islam become friends?

(6) On the inviolability of treaties the Quran says clearly:
Excepting those of the idolaters with whom you have entered into a treaty and who have not subsequently failed you in anything nor aided anyone against you. So fulfill to these the treaty you have made with them till their term. Surely, Allah loves those who are righteous (9:4).

Pagans, who enter into a pact with Muslims, keep the pact and do not help the enemy against Muslims, are to have reciprocal treatment from Muslims. Piety requires that Muslims should fulfill their part of a pact in the letter as well as the spirit.

(7) Of an enemy at war with Muslims who wishes to study the Message of Islam, the Quran orders:
And if anyone of the idolaters ask protection of thee, grant him protection, so that he may hear the word of Allah: then convey him to his place of security. That is because they are a people who have no knowledge (9:6).

That is to say, if any of those at war with Muslims seek refuge with Muslims in order to study Islam and ponder over its Message, they are to have refuge with Muslims for such time as may be reasonably necessary for such a purpose.

(8) Of prisoners of war, the Quran teaches:
It does not behoove a Prophet that he should have captives until he engages in a regular fighting in the land. You desire the goods of the world, while Allah desires for you the Hereafter. And Allah is Mighty, Wise (8:68).

That is to say, it does not become a Prophet to make prisoners of his enemy save as a result of regular war involving much bloodshed. The system of making prisoners of enemy tribes without war and bloodshed practiced until-and even after-the advent of Islam, is here made unlawful. Prisoners can be taken only from combatants and after a battle.

(9) Rules for the release of prisoners are also laid down. Thus we have:
Then afterwards either release them as a favor or by taking ransom-until the war lays down its burdens (47:5).

The best thing, according to Islam, is to let off prisoners without asking for ransom. As this is not always possible, release by ransom is also provided for.

(10) There is provision for prisoners of war who are unable themselves to pay, and who have none who can or will pay, for their release. Often, relations are able to pay, but do not, because they prefer to let their relations remain prisoners-possibly with the intention of misappropriating their property in their absence. This provision is contained in the Quran:
And such as desire a deed of manumission from among those whom your right hands possess, write it for them, if you know any good in them; and give them out of the wealth of Allah which He has bestowed upon You (24:34).

That is, those who do not deserve to be released without ransom but who have no one to pay ransom for them-if they still ask for their freedom-can obtain it by signing an undertaking that, if allowed to work and earn, they will pay their ransom. They are to be allowed to do so, however, only if their competence to work and earn is reasonably certain. If their competence is proved, they should even have financial help from Muslims in their effort to work and earn. Individual Muslims who can afford to do so should pay; or, public subscription should be raised to put these unfortunates on their feet.

The passages from the Quran which we have quoted above contain the teaching of Islam on the subject of war and peace. They tell us in what circumstances, according to Islam, is it right to go to war and what limits have to be observed by Muslims when they make war." (Life of Muhammad ﷺ pg 108-116)

While Christians see no wrong in consuming the flesh of swine, the Bible abhors this conduct.

The Book of Deuteronomy relates:
And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcass. (Deuteronomy, 14-8)
Drinking is also portrayed in the Bible in a negative light.

The Book of Hosea relates:
...wine and new wine take away the heart. (Hosea, 4:11)

The Book of Luke relates:
An angel said about John: For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink... (Luke, 1:15)
While circumcision is not considered a necessity among Christians, the Bible does.

The Book of Genesis relates:
He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised; and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant. (Genesis, 17:13)

The uniqueness and beauty of the Holy Qur’ān is that it contains no contradiction. This is due to the promise of Allāh made to mankind that the teachings of this Holy Book of Allāh are complete and would be safeguarded by Him alone. It is also the only scripture with a universal and everlasting message. The Bible contains some teachings that clearly belong to the pre-Islāmic era only.
Women in Islām are considered by some to have no rights. However, the following verse of the Holy Qur’ān states otherwise.

Allah states:
But whoso does good works, whether male or female, and is a believer, such shall enter Heaven, and shall not be wronged even as much as the little hollow in the back of a date-stone.(Quran 4:125)

In fact, it is in the Bible where women are treated unequal.

The First Letter to Cornith states:
I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God. Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head. But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head—it is the same as having her head shaved. For if a woman does not cover her head, she might as well have her hair cut off; but if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, then she should cover her head. A man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man. (1 Corinthians, 11: 4-7)

The Holy Qur’ān declares that there is no compulsion in matters of faith. No one has the right to punish another for rejecting a religion.

Allah states:
There should be no compulsion in religion. Surely, right has become distinct from wrong; so whosoever refuses to be led by those who transgress, and believes in Allah, has surely grasped a strong handle which knows no breaking. And Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.(Quran 2:257)

But there is punishment for apostasy in the Bible.

The Book of Deuteronomy relates:
If your very own brother, or your son or daughter, or the wife you love, or your closest friend secretly entices you, saying, “Let us go and worship other gods” (gods that neither you nor your ancestors have known,

gods of the peoples around you, whether near or far, from one end of the land to the other),

do not yield to them or listen to them.Show them no pity. Do not spare them or shield them.

You must certainly put them to death. Your hand must be the first in putting them to death, and then the hands of all the people.

Stone them to death, because they tried to turn you away from the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. (Deuteronomy, 13: 6-10)

There is a horrible contradiction in the bible

The Gospel of Mark states:
καὶ ἐξελθοῦσαι ταχὺ ἔφυγον ἀπὸ τοῦ μνημείου εἶχεν δὲ αὐτὰς τρόμος καὶ ἔκστασις· καὶ οὐδενὶ οὐδὲν εἶπον, ἐφοβοῦντο γὰρ
And they went out quickly, and fled from the sepulchre; for they trembled and were amazed: neither said they any thing to any man; for they were afraid. (Mark 16:8)

Now if some Christian choose to want to believe in fabricated verses they can do so however it leads

Jesus (peace be upon him) is not the begotten son of God, but rather he is a prophet and messenger. This view is supported by the Bible in many ways: References to Jesus (peace be upon him) as the “son of God", such as in Mark 1:1, were added in later manuscripts, and do not appear in the earliest copies. If Jesus (peace be upon him) was the son of God, why would these edits have been necessary? Codex Sinaiticus - See The Manuscript The Bible calls many people “sons of God”, always in a purely metaphorical sense. Examples of this can be found in: Luke 3:38 Exodus 4:22 2 Samuel 7:13-14 Jeremiah 31:9 Deuteronomy 14:1 Since all of these verses are metaphorical, there is no basis for the claim that Jesus (peace be upon him) is the son of God. Jesus (peace be upon him) is called a prophet many times, and even refers to himself as such: John 4:19 Matthew 21:11 Luke 13:33 The Bible refers to the messiah as a “servant” many times, a description shared by Jesus (peace be upon him); the word “son" is never used for the messiah. Just two examples of the messiah being called “servant” are: Isaiah 41:2 Isaiah 52:13 Jesus (peace be upon him) is quoted as saying that God is “my Father and your Father", indicating that this is metaphorical, not literal. In addition, the prayer that Jesus (peace be upon him) is said to have taught his followers is “Our Father", again implying that the idea of “Fatherhood" is metaphorical. John 20:17 Matthew 6:9 Luke 11:2 If Jesus (peace be upon him) was coeternal was God (as the Gospel according to John claims), then the terms “father" and “son" would lose their meaning; a father has to come before his son. All praise and worship be only to Allah (subhanahu wa ta'ala).

Codex Sinaiticus
32 scholars of the highest eminence backed by fifty cooperation of the denominations of the Christians, they say "the King James version of the Bible is defective, they revised it into Revised Standard Version of the Bible. They removed the defects without any ceremony.

From The King James Verision of the Bible of John 3:16 it states:
"For God so love the world that he gives His only begotten son who ever believe in him shall never parish shall have ever lasting life"(John 3:16 King James Verision)

From the The Revised Standard Verision of the Bible of John 3:16 it states:
"For God so loves the world that He gives His only son who ever Believe in Him shall never parish shall have everlasting life"(John 3:16 King James Verision)

Begotten is missing in revise standard version of the Bible. 32 scholars of the highest eminent backed by fifty cooperation of denominations of the christians, says the word begotten is a fabrication, interpolation, that is not the word of God they took it throw it out that it is not the word of God.

We read in the preface of RSV:
"The King James Version has grave defects. By the middle of the nineteenth century, the development of Biblical studies and the discovery of many manuscripts more ancient than those upon which the King James Version was based, made it manifest, that these defects are so many and so serious as to call for the revision of the English translation." The preface continued to refer to the unhappy experience with unauthorized publications, "which tampered with the text of the English Revised Version, in the supposed interest of the American public."

Parallel Study
One way to note how the Gospels are similar or dissimilar to each other is to read the incidents they cite or quotations of Jesusas they narrate side-by-side. An excellent test case for this exercise is the Baptism of Jesusas. It is mentioned in each of the Gospels as follows: Mark 1:9-11, Matthew 3:13-17, Luke 3:21-22, and John 1:29-34.
While the Gospel of Mark has the earliest, raw story of Jesusas being baptized by John, the Gospel of Matthew revises the story by adding that John the Baptist was hesitant to baptize Jesusas.
The Gospel of Luke on the other hand does not indicate whether it was John the Baptist indeed who baptized Jesusas or someone else. In fact, if the passage is seen in context, Luke seems to suggest that John was arrested before the baptism of Jesusas. The Gospel of John even goes a step further by not mentioning the baptism at all. Instead it attributes a long speech to John where he speaks of the greatness of Jesusas.
In this test case regarding the baptism of Jesusas, and in the overall portrayal of Jesusas by each Gospel, we can notice differences some of which are quite significant. The Promised Messiah, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmadas, has noted that the authors of the Gospels were not Prophets (Kitab-ul-Bariyyah, Ruhani Khazain, Vol. 13, p. 85). This explains the differences, as they were made by humans who were trying to write down events that took place many decades prior to their writing.
Biblical scholars who study the texts in depth know the differences that are mentioned in this article and many others. Those among them who are Christian argue that the Bible has truth and that is what is important, not the “minor” differences.
We do not completely disagree with those scholars, as we also say that the Bible has truth. However, that truth should be obtained from the Word of God or the statements of the Prophets of God historically recorded in the Bible. Such truths which are also affirmed in the Quran become absolute truths for Muslims.
When it comes to God, that truth is the same: God is One and One Alone. In the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament, see Deuteronomy 6:4; in the Gospels, see Jesus’as statement in Mark 12:29, and in the Quran, see Surah Al-Ikhlas, Ch.112: V.1-5.

The Gospel of Mark relates:
"And he went and dwelt in a city called Nazareth, that what was spoken by the prophets might be fulfilled, “He shall be called a Nazarene.'(Mark 2:23)

This Prophecy is not in the Old Testament. We are told that this was spoken by the prophets but it is not mentioned in the Old Testament or the New Testament. Surely this prophecy should be mentioned in the Books of Moses or the Book of Jonah or Isaiah. The Fact is this prophecy is not in the entire Bible which shows that the Old Testament has been changed. Now some may say why isn't this applying to the New Testament? Well at the time of Jesus(pbuh) there was only one other prophet, Yahya(a.s) who did not bring any new book. Secondly the prophecy is fulfilled by Isa(a.s) however the original prophecy is not in the books of the prophets.
The Ascension story comes from three verses

The Gospel of Mark relates:

"So then after the Lord hath spoken unto them, he was received into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God"(Mark 16:19)

The Gospel of Luke relates:

"And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried into heaven" (Luke 24:51)

The Book of Acts relates:

And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up, and a cloud received him out of sight. (Acts 1:9)

Spirtual Ascension

The Gospel of John relates:

"And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up"(John 3:14)

The Gospel of John relates:

"And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me"(John 12:32)

We see that in the Bible other ascensions happened to figures like Enoch and Elijah.

Enoch's Ascension:

The Book of Genesis relates:

"And Enoch walked with God., and he was not; for God took him" (Genesis 5:24)

The Book of Hebrews relates:

"By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God hath translated him, for before his translation, he had his testimony, that he pleased God" (Hebrew 11:5)

Elijah Ascension:

The 2nd Book of Kings relates:

"And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that behold, there appeared a chariot of fire and horses of fire. and parted them both asunder, and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven" (2 Kings 2:11)
The Gospel of John states
“And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven”(John 3:13)

This shows that Jesus could not have ascended to heaven, as he was born on earth and did not descend from heaven. This matter of rising to heaven is not reported about Jesus only. Enoch and Elijah are also said to have had a similar experience.

The Ascension Story is a Later Addition

The Ecumenical Translation states:

"Mark 16.19 is not included in the two oldest complete manuscripts of the Gospel of Mark: The Codex Vaticanus and The Code Sinaiticus"(The Ecumencial Translation)
[Ecumenical means representing the whole of a body of churches]

The Encyclopedia Britannica states:

"It was added to the original account, in probably early 2nd century, to take place of the ending which had been lost or regarded defective"(The Enc. Brittannica Vol 17 Page 730)

Ancient authorities omit this verse and some conclude with the following:

'But they reported briefly to Peter and those with him all that they had been told. And after this Jesus himself sent out by means of them, the sacred and imperishable proclaimation of eternal salvation"
(The Holy Bible Revised Standard Edition, Catholic Edition, London Catholic Truth Society)
Jesus prophecied that his fate would be like that of prophet Jonah.

Jesus said:
"A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a miraculous sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth" (Matthew 12:39,40)

Survival — Not Revival

The sign of Jonah is related in the Bible twice which gives us greater insight on Jesus.

The Book of Jonah states
"And the Lord appointed a great fish to swallow up Jonah; and Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights"(Jonah 1:17 RSV)

From inside the fish Jonah prayed to the Lord his God.
The Book of Jonah states that Jonah said:
"In my distress I called to the Lord, and he answered me. From the depths of the grave I called for help, and you listened to my cry."(Jonah 2:1-2)

The sign given to the Ninevites by Jonah was he was saved from certain death. He stayed for a period of time in danger, but ultimately recovered. He went alive into the belly of the fish, stayed alive for days, and came out alive.
The same fate was prophecied for Jesus. He would enter the tomb alive, stay alive for days, and come out alive. If Jesus had died, there would be little resemblance to Jonah.
The story of Jonah is one of survival — not revival.

Short Duration
Death on the cross is meant to take days, not hours.

Death by Crucifixion Takes Days
When the news of the supposed death of Jesus reached Pilate, he was surprised to learn that Jesus had passed away so soon (Mark 15:44).

The Gospel of Mark states:
"Pilate was surprised to hear that he was already dead. Summoning the centurion, he asked him if Jesus had already died."(Mark 15:44 NIV)

His testimony is extremely important and revealing. Here was the man who probably had the most knowledge in his time of the nature of the punishment of crucifixion and likely officiated over many such crucifixions.

Though many details of the crucifixion have been lost with the end of the Roman Empire, there are ample records to show this particular punishment took at least two to three days to kill a person. For example, good testimony comes from historian Flavius Josephus in the first century A.D who described survivors of crucifixions. The writer Plutarch (c 75 A.D) mentions some individuals surviving some ten days on the cross.

The New Bible Dictionary also concluded based on the historical facts of crucifixion that "death by this method was usually quite protracted, rarely supervening before thirty-six hours, and on occasion taking as long as nine days" (1962 ed, Intervarsity Press, Page 282).

Unbroken Legs
This would have prevented death by respiratory distress.
Saved from a Fatal Blow
After Jesus supposedly 'died' on the cross a Roman soldier made a decision not to break the legs of Jesus while on the cross. The episode fulfilled a prophecy and was not without meaning.

The Gospel of John (19:36) tells us that the Scripture was fulfilled (based on Psalms 34:20) - a bone of his shall not be broken. The Roman soldier did not bother to break the legs of Jesus to hasten death since he thought he was already dead. Breaking the legs would have been devastating due to the severe trauma of blood loss and consequential hypovolemic shock by breaking one of the larger bones in the body, the tibia, in each leg.

The Gospel of John states:
"For these things took place that the scripture might be fulfilled, "Not a bone of him shall be broken." (John 19:36)

The Book of Psalm relates:
"He keeps all his bones; not one of them is broken" (Psalm 34:20)

The Scriptural attention to not breaking the legs can only be meaningful if the body was alive - it is a meaningless issue for a corpse. A fuller reading of Psalm 34, verses 19 and 20 underscores it:

The Book of Psalm relates:
"19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous;
but the Lord delivers him out of them all.
20 He keeps all his bones;
not one of them is broken."(Psalm 34:19-20)

Prayer in the Garden
When it appeared that there was no way to avoid the devious plans of the Jews to have him crucified, Jesus prayed fervently 'to remove the cup' of death upon the cross (Mark 14:36).

The Gospel of Mark relates that the prayer was:
And he said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible to thee; remove this cup from me; yet not what I will, but what thou wilt.”(Mark 14:36 RSV)

God answers prayers

Jesus had full confidence that his prayers in the Garden of Gethsemane would be accepted as he himself told his disciples.

The Gospel of Matthew relates that Jesus said:
"And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”(Matthew 21:22 RSV)

The Gospel of Matthew relates that Jesus said:
"7 “Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
8 For every one who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
9 Or what man of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone?"
(Matthew 7:7-9)
We know that God answers prays and God answers the prayers of the pious.

Psalm 20:6 New International Version (NIV)
6 Now this I know:
The Lord gives victory to his anointed.
He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary
with the victorious power of his right hand.

Psalm 20:7 New International Version (NIV)
7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.

Psalm 20:8 New International Version (NIV)
8 They are brought to their knees and fall,
but we rise up and stand firm.

Psalm 20:9 New International Version (NIV)
9 Lord, give victory to the king!
Answer us when we call!

This presents a huge issue for Christians. As the meaning of the Messaih is the Annoited one. So the cheif of the annointed ones, God didnt listen to his prayer even though he said he would?

This presents a huge issue for Christians. As the meaning of the word Ha mashiach or The Messiah (המשיח) is the Annoited One. So the cheif of the annointed ones, God didnt listen to his prayer even though he said he would?

God Accepted His Prayer
The prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane was the most important and grand prayer offered by Jesus and portrayed quite vividly in the Gospels. It is inconceivable that the prayer did not reach the Divine Throne, especially as Jesus taught his disciples the power of prayer.

Indeed we need not guess. The Gospels furnish evidence that his prayer was accepted.

The Gospel of Luke states an angel came from Heaven "strengthening him" (Luke 22:43). This indicates God had heard his heart-felt prayer.

The Gospel of Luke states:
“Father, if thou art willing, remove this cup from me; nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done."(Luke 22:43 RSV)
For this verse there is a footnote saying:
Luke 22:42 Other ancient authorities add verses 43 and 44

The Gospel of Luke relates that verses 43 and 44 are:
"43 And there appeared to him an angel from heaven, strengthening him. 44 And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly; and his sweat became like great drops of blood falling down upon the ground"(Luke 22:43-44)

After his supplication in the garden, when Jesus was apprehended, one of his followers drew a sword, struck a servant of a high priest and cut off his ear. Jesus sternly rebuked him and said:

"52 Then Jesus said to him, “Put your sword back into its place; for all who take the sword will perish by the sword.
53 Do you think that I cannot appeal to my Father, and he will at once send me more than twelve legions of angels?" (Matthew 26:52-53).

This shows Jesus was now in perfect contentment that his prayer was accepted and all could be left now in the hands of God, with no need for active self-defence.

Finally, when death looked imminent and he was in agony on the cross he cried "Eli Eli lama sabachthani"(Matthew 27:45-46) because he did not expect that it would come to this. He fully believed the prayer would be accepted.

Pilate’s Plot
Having sympathy for Jesus, he planned to save him.

Convinced of His Innocence
It is notable in the New Testament testimony that Pontius Pilate believed Jesus to be innocent and did not want him executed. One of the influences was a dream Pilate's wife convincing her of Jesus' innocence, and the message she passed on to Pilate was "leave that innocent man alone" (Matthew 27:19).

The Gospel of Matthew states:
'Besides, while he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent word to him, “Have nothing to do with that righteous man, for I have suffered much over him today in a dream'(Matthew 27:19 RSV)

Pilate eventually acquiesced to the demand of the Jews that Jesus be crucified, as a riot was developing. However he then asked for a bowl of water and washed his hands before the crowd and exclaimed "I am innocent of the blood of this man. The responsibility is yours!" (Matthew 27:24) .

The Gospel of Matthew states:
'So when Pilate saw that he was gaining nothing, but rather that a riot was beginning, he took water and washed his hands before the crowd, saying, “I am innocent of this man’s blood; see to it yourselves.'(Matthew 27:24)

The Plan to Save Jesus

An analysis of the Gospels clearly reveals Pilate had an interest in saving Jesus' life to the best of this ability while trying to maintain official execution procedure as mandated by Roman law. Three key points may be noted:
  • He set the crucifixion day just before the Sabbath, as Jewish law specifically prohibits bodies to hang on the cross by the start of Sabbath. Death would be unlikely to ensue within 6 hours (see "Short Duration")
  • When the time came to remove Jesus and the two others on the cross, the Jews asked Pilate to break the legs of Jesus (John 19:31). However the centurions acting on Pilate's command did not break the legs of Jesus (John 19:33). It was because he had taken these precautionary measures that Pilate was surprised when he was told that Jesus was "already dead" (Mark 15:44).
  • Roman protocol was that body would lie on the crucifixion grounds and be subjected to the elements and animals. However Pilate allowed something quite interesting to take place by deviating from standard practice. He allowed Jesus to be given to Jesus' friends not his enemies.

Blood and Water
Gushed from the spear wound, a sign of a beating heart.

Corpses Do Not Bleed
An important piece of information is mentioned in the Gospel of John which supports the view that Jesus did not die on the cross:

"One of the soldiers pierced Jesus' side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water" (John 19:34).

Lost Tribes Found
He went towards India in search of the lost tribes.

Beyond the Euphrates
Traditional Jewish history and Biblical texts divided this Semitic people into twelve tribes. In the time of Jesus, only two of the tribes were in the region Jesus preached, whereas the whereabouts of the remaining ten has always been a bit of a mystery.

The second century historian Josephus wrote in his book Antiquities of the Jews that the ten tribes were 'beyond Euphrates' in his time, east of present day Iraq and in the Persian empire of the time which extended into India.

It is also notable that early Church history documents the existence of a Gospel in the Hebrew language found in India, which also confirms Israelites in India. St Jerome (c 400 A.D) wrote that the scholar Pantaenus in the second century came across the document in his travels. St Jerome further wrote that the Israelites in his time continue to live in the Persian empire.

The mission of Jesus was to reach out to the Lost Tribes (or 'Sheep') of Israel, as stated in Matthew 15:24. It was thus imperative for him to migrate to the east.

The mass of evidence showing that the peoples of Afghanistan, north-west India (particularly Kashmir) and neighboring areas are of Israelite ancestry continues to grow. Their physical features, language, folklore, customs and festivals attest to their Israelite heritage. Evidence also come from the names they give to their villages, their monuments and ancient historical works.

Some pilot genetic studies on peoples in India who to this day call themselves 'Bene Israel' or 'Children of Israel' confirm their middle eastern origin.

His Ultimate Victory
Saved from the cross, he completed his mission.

Purpose Fulfilled
Jesus found acceptance in the lands of the Lost Tribes, and completed his mission by travelling eastward to these ancient Israelite communities.

One objection is, if Jesus spent most of his life in India, why is that part of his life so unknown and forgotten?

One has to keep in mind the phenomenon of what happens to a religion's presence when another religion takes over. For instance modern day Afghanistan was a vast center of Buddhism and had some of the largest statues of Buddha in the world carved in stone. That faith has now vanished there. Another example are the pagan religions of Europe prior to Christianity arriving there.

The Israelite peoples of Afghanistan and Kashmir accepted Islam. Jesus had foretold the coming of messenger after him, the Paraclete of the gospels, fulfilled in the person of Holy Prophet Muhammad.

With time, the old faith of Christianity was forgotten over generations so that now there are mainly 'orthodox Muslims' in these same areas holding beliefs as other 'orthodox Muslims'.

However, remnants of the followers of Jesus Christ still exists in the vicinity of Herat, Afghanistan. The British scholar O.M Burke in his book 'Among the Dervishes' has described these peoples. Though they are now Muslims, they did not forget their Christian legacy. They have a special attachment to Jesus and refer to him as 'Yuz Asaf the Kashmiri' who came to preach to them.
Tomb of Jesus
Recently discovered and preserved in Kashmir, India.

The Kashmir Tomb
The burial place of Jesus in Kashmir is known to the locals as Rauzabal, meaning the Honored Tomb.

It is known as the tomb of Yuz Asaf, which may be of Buddhist derivation (see link) or possibly from Yusu or Yehoshua (Jesus) the Gatherer.

Local tradition states that the entombed was a prophet of Ahle-Kitab, or People of the Book, and his name was Isa - the Quranic name for Jesus.

The prophet Yuz Asaf came to Kashmir from the West (Holy Land) in the reign of Raja Gopdatta (c 1st century A.D) according to the ancient official documents held by the current custodian of the tomb.

Some of the most extensive research on the tomb has been conducted by the now retired famous historian and former Head of Archaelogy for State of Kashmir, Professor Fida Hassnain.

The tomb is Jewish, as attested by the direction the grave is lying. Next to the grave is a footprint engraved in stone, an artistic rendition of the wounds of crucifixion.

Ancient Texts
Buddhist and Hindu texts confirm his travels to the region

The Testimony Hindu and Buddhist Texts
First century A.D Northern India was a vast center of not only Hinduism, but also Buddhism. The Israelite peoples whom Jesus ministered to in these areas were in a minority practicing Judaism, but it is likely many adopted the indigenous faiths of Hinduism and Buddhism also.

It is possible to trace Jesus's footprints in these lands from some of these texts.

The ancient books of Hindus are called Puranas. One book, Bhavishya Maha Purana (written in Sanskrit) contains an account of a king of India, Salivahana meeting "Isa-Masiha" (Jesus the Messiah)- a religious personage of fair complexion who was a foreigner.

Buddhist texts contain a prophecy of future Buddha, a bodhisattva, named 'Bagwa Metteyya' a Pali phrase which literally means "fair-complexioned", or "white traveller". The etymological resemblance of the word "Metteyya" to "Messiah" is established and one meaning of the word "Messiah" is traveler.

As the sun of Christianity did rise in India with Jesus' personal advent in the area, many teachings of Jesus became interwoven with Gautama Buddha's teachings. Even certain parables as recorded in the New Testament became attributed to Buddha, such as parable of the sower which is found in Buddhist texts.

It has been proposed that the word Yuz Asaf, the name of the person entombed in Kashmir, is derived from Buddha Asaf, as Jesus would have been included in the Buddhist pantheon of saints. The term would thus mean a Buddha who rallied people, or gathered the flock of the true faith.

The Christian Concept of God

In the same manner, when the Christians assert that their God is Christ and then they state in his relation that he was beaten at the hands of the Jews, Satan continued to test him, hunger and thirst took their toll on him, and he was put on the cross in a state of failure, what wise person would be prepared to believe in such a God? Therefore, in this manner, all of these nations are put to shame when they speak of the God in whom they believe. A Muslim, however, is never embarrassed in any gathering when they speak of their own God, because any merit and excellent quality that one can fathom is possessed by the God in whom they believe; and He is pure from any defect or evil that one can imagine. In Surah al-Fatihah, Allah is declared to be the possessor of all praiseworthy qualities. In truth, َحْمُدِہلِل ْ ال)َAll praise belongs to Allah) corresponds with دُ ُ َّ َ اكَ نْعب ي ِ ا) Thee alone do we worship). After this appears نَ ْ ٰعَلِمي ْ ال ب ِّر)َLord of all the worlds) and the task of divine providence (rububiyyat), is to nurture and bring to perfection, just as a mother nurtures her child, cleans it, keeps it away from all kinds of filth and uncleanliness and feeds it milk. In other words, one could say a mother helps her child. Now corresponding to this we have here نُْ َّ َ اكَ ن ْسَتِعي ي ِ ا) Thee alone do we implore for help) ْح ٰم ِن then and َّ الر)َthe Gracious), who bestows His grace without a desire from man, prior to his request and before any deeds are performed; if our body was not fashioned in its present form, we would not be able to prostrate, or bow. Therefore, َّ َ اكَ ن ْسَتِعي ي ِ ا) Thee alone do we implore for help) has been stated here to correspond with divine providence (rububiyyat). Just as a garden cannot grow and flourish without water, in the same way, if one is deprived of the water of God’s grace, we too cannot flourish and grow. A tree conducts water through xylem vessels and openings that extend from their roots. Botany tells us that the branches of a tree pull water upwards and possess a capacity to absorb. Similarly, servitude to God also possesses an absorbing capacity, which draws in and sucks the grace of God. ْح ٰم ِن ,Hence َّ الر)َthe Gracious) corresponds with مَ ْ ِي ُمْسَتق ْ َ َ اط ال ِ ْه ِدَن ِّ ا الصر ا) Guide us in the right path); that is to say that if we were not blessed with God’s graciousness (rahmaniyyat), and if God had not bestowed these strengths and faculties upon us, how could we have derived benefit from this divine grace?  (Malfuzat Page 209-210)

AlQur'an Chapter 4 Verse 172 states:
[4:172]
O People of the Book, exceed not the limits in your religion, and say not of Allah anything but the truth. Verily, the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, was only a Messenger of Allah and a fulfilment of His word which He sent down to Mary, and a mercy from Him. So believe in Allah and His Messengers, and say not ‘They are three.’ Desist, it will be better for you. Verily, Allah is the only One God. Far is it from His Holiness that He should have a son. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth. And sufficient is Allah as a Guardian.

AlQur'an Chapter 5 Verse 74 states:

[5:74]
They are surely disbelievers who say, ‘Allah is the third of three;’ there is no God but the One God. And if they do not desist from what they say, a grievous punishment shall surely befall those of them that disbelieve.

Malik Ghulam Farid in the Short Commentary of the Quran states:
778. The reference in this verse is to the doctrine of Trinity, that mysterious and abstruse dogma of the three persons of Godhead—the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost—coexisting and co-equal in all respects, combining to make one God and yet remaining three. It was the Nicene Council and especially the Athanasian Creed that first gave the dogma its definite shape. The doctrine forms the basic article of the Christian Faith.

Hadrat Mirza Bashirudeen Ahmad(r.a) commentates on this verse saying:

The Quran refers to the trinity in verses 19:89-94

[19:89]
وَ قَالُوا اتَّخَذَ الرَّحۡمٰنُ وَلَدًا
ENGLISH
And they say, ‘The Gracious God has taken unto Himself a son.’

Hadrat Mirza Bashirudeen Mahmud Ahmad(r.a) commentates:
"The verse means to say that the socalled followers of Jesus think that he will intercede for them. How could this be possible when he was a strict believer in the Oneness of God and they ascribe partners to the Almighty which is a heinous sin. They possess no likeness with him while one of the most important conditions of intercession is that the person for whom intercession is sought must be like him who is to make the intercession."(Holy Quran Short Commentary under 19:89 Footnote 2205)

[19:90]
لَقَدۡ جِئۡتُمۡ شَیۡئًا اِدًّا
ENGLISH
Assuredly, you have done a most monstrous thing!

Hadrat Mirza Bashirudeen Mahmud Ahmad(r.a) commentates:
"The verse purports to say that شرک (idolatry) is a most abominable thing. Human nature revolts against it and reason and intellect recoil in disgust from it and no sane person can help protesting against such a blasphemous practice or belief. No doctrine has been condemned so strongly and repeatedly in the Quran as the Christian dogma that Jesus, son of Mary, a mortal, subject to all human weaknesses and frailties, was the son of God."(Short Commentary of Holy Quran under 19:90)

[19:91]
تَکَادُ السَّمٰوٰتُ یَتَفَطَّرۡنَ مِنۡہُ وَ تَنۡشَقُّ الۡاَرۡضُ وَ تَخِرُّ الۡجِبَالُ ہَدًّا
ENGLISH
The heavens might well-nigh burst thereat, and the earth cleave asunder, and the mountains fall down in pieces,

Malik Ghulam Farid Commentates on the verse:
"The dogma that Jesus is the son of God is so hideous that the heavens, the earth and the mountains might well break into pieces and fall asunder at its enormity. The belief is repugnant to heavenly beings (As-Samawat) because it is against Divine attributes and against all that they stand for. It is revolting for human beings living on the earth (al-Ard), because it offends against the dictates of human nature and man’s intellect and reason recoil in sheer disgust from it. Men of high and noble ideals such as Divine Prophets and God’s Elect (al-Jibal) also deny and denounce it because the idea that man should stand in need of the vicarious sacrifice of anybody for the attainment of salvation and a high moral status runs counter to their own spiritual experience"(Short Commentary of Holy Quran under 19:91 Footnote 1802)

The doctrine of Atonement is dependent on and is inseparably connected with belief in the sonship of Jesus and bars the door to all moral and spiritual advancement and attainment of high and noble ideals and condemns man to undeserved moral degradation. In short, the doctrine that Jesus is son of God is against all that is sane, sound and sensible."(Tafsir-e-Kabir English Under 19:91 Footnote 2230)

Whereas it becomes not the Gracious God to take unto Himself a son.

Malik Ghulam Farid commentates:
"The Surah contains most emphatic and clear denunciation of Christian dogmas, particularly their basic doctrine that Jesus is son of God, from which all other dogmas flow. In the present and preceding four verses special stress has been laid on the refutation and condemnation of this doctrine. It is worthy of special note that the Divine attribute Ar-Rahman has been repeatedly referred to in this Surah—it has been mentioned as many as sixteen times. As the fundamental dogma of the sonship of Jesus and its corollary, the dogma of atonement involve a denial of the Divine attribute Ar-Rahman and as the central theme of this Surah is the refutation of this dogma, this attribute inevitably has been repeatedly referred to. The dogma of atonement implies that God cannot forgive the sins of men whereas the Divine attribute 'Ar-Rahman' implies that He can and actually does often forgive them, hence its repetition in this Surah (Holy Quran Short Commentary Under 19:93 Footnote 1803)

Isaiah 29:12 cannot be Jesus(pbuh) as it describes someone unlettered like the Prophet Muhammad(s.a.w)

Isaiah 29:12-14 King James Version (KJV)
12 And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.
13 Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:
14 Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.

Christians try to ignore the prophecies of The Holy Prophet Muhammad(s.a.w) advent and try to bring numerous claims in order to oppose him.

For example some try to claim that Islam is,Nazubillah, a demonic religion. This claim backfires on the Chirstian.

First off we see that people did think that Jesus of the bible was crazy
 The Gospel of Mark states:
"When his family heard about this, they went to take charge of him, for they said, “He is out of his mind"(Mark 3:21)

Mark 3:30 New International Version (NIV) 30 He said this because they were saying, “He has an impure spirit.”

It even states that he has an impure spirit.
But, no. The Angel Gabriel was not a demon. Just because angels and Jinns are both made of fires doesn't mean they are the same.

The Bible Prophecised the Second Messiah would come from the East of Jerusalem

For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather. Immediately after the distress of those day the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light the stars will fall from the sky and the heavenly bodies will be shaken. Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. (The Holy Bible, Matthew 24:27-30)

Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing. Look, your house is left to you desolate. For I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’ (The Holy Bible, Matthew 23:37-39)
The above statement of Jesus in The Holy Bible contains a prophecy so stark it is incredible. He warns the Jews that because they have tried to murder the prophets who have been sent to them, their 'house is left to you desolate,' meaning they will now lose the blessings of prophethood amongst the Jews. Further, they are warned that they 'will not see me again until you say, "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord" '.

This prophecy is simply astounding. It clearly states that the Jews will not receive the blessings of the second messiah unless they first invoke darood or blessings upon the Holy Prophet s.a.w, who came down and taught the world to recite, 'In the name of Allah' before every recitation of the Qu'ran and every other good deed. He also taught Muslims to recite the prayer, 'Bless, oh Allah, Muhammad and the people of Muhammad' in at least every prayer, five times a day.

This prophecy cannot be taken in any other way than to mean that Jesus a.s. would be from the Ummah of Muhammad s.a.w. It does not say that Jesus will return after Muhammad s.a.w, it says that only those who first accept Muhammad s.a.w. will even be able to recognise Jesus! If Jesus were to literally descend from the sky on a cloud, what difference would it make if someone had or hadn't accepted Muhammad s.a.w? It would be such a great miracle that anyone could immediately recognise a man returning from the dead by flying from the sky to be a true prophet of God. However, this isn't what Jesus has said. He has instead clearly indicated that only those who first accept Muhammad s.a.w. will be able to recognise him and this is a clear indication that the promised prophet can only be a messiah from the ummah of Muhammad s.a.w.

There is no other sensible interpretation of this and if the antis wish to reject this, they are at liberty to do so, but they must also first reject the grand prophecy that the passage contains of the coming of Muhammad s.a.w. and the teachings of Muhammad s.a.w. and perhaps they must also reject the verses from the Qu'ran which we presented earlier which clearly stated that Muhammad s.a.w. and his teachings had fulfilled the prophecies of the gospels- such as the one contained in the passage above.

The Gospel of Matthew relates:
"And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall bethe sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?" (Matthew 24:3 King James Version)

When Jesus(pbuh)'s disples asked about the 2nd Coming of Christ he gave many signs one of those signs was the Persecution of his followers.

The Gospel of Matthew relates:
“Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me..."(Matthew 24:9)

Today Ahmadi Muslims are considered kuffar(Non-Mislims) by the Shia and Sunni Muslim Ulema. Ahmadis only account for 1.125% of the Muslim Ummah. In 1974 they were considered Non-Muslim by the Pakistani Goverment. This led to heightening tensions. In 1984 Under president Zia-ul-Haq, an anti-Ahmadiyya ordinance was made in the Constitution of Pakistan which restricted the freedom of religion for Ahmadis. According to this law, Ahmadis cannot call themselves Muslim or "pose as Muslims" which is punishable by three years in prison. This was fulfilled magnificently in 1974 when the World Muslim League, which is affiliated with and has representatives from every single Muslim nation in the world, unanimously declared Ahmadis to be Kafir(Non Muslim). Furthermore, shortly after Pakistan passed it's first round of legislation against Ahmadis and ushered in a new era of fierce persecution and murder of Ahmadis, only because of their religious beliefs. Ahmadis have been persecuted in Algeria, Indonesia, Afganistan, Pakistan,Egypt,Gambia,Mayasia, and India. Every Pakistani Ahmadi Family can relate their own story of persecution from slurs like "Qadiani" and "Mirzai" to Massacres,

We see that many of these countries are Islamic countries, but bear in mind the prophecy said all nations. Now we see that persecution is moving towards the west. Countries like Belarus,USA,Belgium, and United Kingdom. The beginning states are there, only time can accelerate them.

Belgium:
In 2011 the far right party Vlaams Belang organized a demonstration against the projected building of an Ahmadi mosque in the Brussels municipality of Uccle, allegedly out of fear for a "war of religions" between radical Sunnis and Ahmadis in the streets of the municipality.

Belarus:
In 2007, the Ahmadiyya muslims were banned from practising their faith openly in the state of Belarus and given a similar status to other banned religious groups in the country. Unable to obtain state registration, Ahmadi Muslims in the country who number about 30 including 13 native Belarusians, cannot conduct their activities formally as a collectivity such as importing or distributing literature, gathering together for prayers or meetings and having an official representative.

Bulgaria:
In 2003, persistent attempts were made in Bulgaria by a local prosecutor and the national state Religious Affairs Directorate to strip Ahmadi Muslims of their legal status. Ahmadis in Bulgaria, who (at the time) claimed some 400 members across the country, were refused registration as a religious community on the grounds that they were "against the religions that people follow here" and that "other countries – such as Pakistan – also attack the religious freedom of Ahmadis, who are considered to be heretical by many Muslims". Failing to obtain a legal status, the Ahmadiyya community decided to seek registration as a non-commercial organisation with the Blagoevgrad Regional Court, where one of its biggest congregations is based. This too was rejected on the grounds that "the community had been denied registration as a religion" and that "only registered religious communities are allowed to create non-commercial entities to promote their faith". However, the community was able to successfully challenge this latter decision and gained registration as such in December 2005. Subsequently, their legal status as a non-commercial organisation was again opposed by the Religious Affairs Directorate and the Regional Prosecutor's Office lodged a suit to the regional court calling for it to revoke the registration. The Bulgarian authorities citied the Pakistani government's legal measures against the Ahmadis as a reason to restrict their rights also. Most human rights and religious freedom activists have seen this denial of registration to the Ahmadi community as an exception

United Kingdom:
Ahmadis in the UK have endured killings, mass protests by other Muslims against Ahmadi mosque construction,[161] and threats and intimidation.[162] In March 2016, the First Minister of Scotland, Nicola Sturgeon, attended the wake of an Ahmadi, Asad Shah, 40, killed by a Sunni, Tanveer Ahmed, 32, in what the police characterised as "religious prejudice".[163] In April 2016, leaflets calling for death to Ahmadis were found in Stockwell Green mosque.[164][165] The mosque claimed that it was unaware of the leaflets being placed on its premises. The leaflets were authored in the name of an ex-head, Yusuf Ludhianvi, of Khatam-e-Nabuwwat (or Khatme Nabuwwat) – an anti-Ahmadiyya organization. The organization is fully known as Almi Majlis-e-Tahafuz Khatmi Nubuwat or the International Committee for the Protection of the Finality of Prophethood.

USA:
Recently(2019) a threat was made against Baitus Samee,An Ahmadi Mosque in Houston,Texas.

Caliph IV of the Jama'at also said that one day Ahmadis will be persecuted by Western nations and even worse than what Muslims did to us.

The Gospel of Matthew relates:
"Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many."(Matthew 24:4-5)
And it Goes on to relate:
"And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many."(Matthew 24:11)

Let's examine the statement of Jesus that the era of the Messiah will be marked by the by the claimants to messiahship and 'false prophets'. The Promised Messiah, Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, lived from 1835 to 1908. Let us briefly examine examples of those who the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community believe to have been the most notable false prophets of his era:

Joseph Smith, 1805-1844, claimant to Prophethood, founder of Mormonism
Bahaullah, 1817-1892, claimant to Messiahship, founder of Bahaiism
Bab, 1819-1850, claimant to Mahdiship, founder of Babism
Muhammad Ahmad, 1845-1885, claimant to Mahdiship, political leader
John Alexander Dowie, 1847-1907, claimant to Messiahship, church founder
John Hugh Smyth Piggot, 1800s-1927, claimant to Messiahship, leader of Apegamone sect

The Christians predicted that the Messiah would come in 1844, and when no Jesus appeared descending from the sky they termed the event The Great Disappointment.
Hadrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani(a.s) states:

If I am in error in claiming to be the Promised Messiah, then why don't you try to make the Promised Messiah you have in mind descend from heaven in these very days, for I am here and he for whom you are waiting is nowhere to be seen. My claim can only be effectively refuted if he descends from heaven and I am proved to be false. If you are indeed truthful, you should supplicate all together that the Messiah son of Mary should soon be seen descending from heaven. If you are indeed in the right, your prayer will be heard, for the prayers of the righteous are accepted in contrast to the prayers of the false, but you may be certain that this prayer of yours will not be accepted as you are in error. The Messiah has come but you have failed to recognise him. Your vain hope will never be fulfilled. This age will pass and no one from among you will see the Messiah descending from heaven. (Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, Izala-e-Auham)
The Gospel of Matthew relates:
"At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other,"(Matthew 24:10)

This sign has multiplied in a large way, today people are leaving religion and Islam at a fast rate. Atheism is surging in the United States. It has already trounced Europe and it will spread it's tentacles to the east. The Muslim Countries are quickly Modernizing {Case in point Kuwait which is becoming secular and more secular]
The Gospel of Matthew relates:
For as the lightning cometh out of the east and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.
— Matthew, 24: 27-28

This Prophecy correlates with another prophecy related in a hadith:
Allah would send the Messiah, son of Mary, and he will descend near (at/by) the white minaret, East of Damascus, wearing two saffron-coloured garments, his hands resting on the wings of two Angels.
— Sahih Muslim Book 41, Hadith 7015

Clearly this prophecy is metaphorical as wearing saffron is haram and wearing yellow was warned against by Holy Prophet Muhammad(saw).

Hadrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani states:
"Now our adversaries, though they repeatedly read this hadith of Damascus, yet they are unable to answer as to what the message contained in that which has been stated in it is – namely that the promised Messiah will descend near the minaret that is to the east of Damascus. Rather they have considered this hadith like a mere story, but let it be remembered that this is no story and that God is pure from useless actions…This passage did not mean that the minaret is a part of Damascus and is situated in Damascus as has unfortunately been understood. Rather, it meant that the light of [the teachings of] the promised Messiah will rise, like the sun, from a direction to the east of Damascus and dispel the Western darkness. And this was a subtle indication for the minaret of the Messiah, near which he is to descend, had been declared as being to the east of Damascus and the Damascene Trinity was kept to its western side. And thus was it foretold about the age to come, that when the promised Messiah comes, he will make his appearance like the sun which comes out of the east, and as opposed to him, the lifeless lamp of Trinity that is situated towards the west, will fade away day by day."(Majumah Ishiraat Vol.3 pg 290-294)
— Majmooa Ishtiharat,

The Promised Messiah came 1290 years after the Holy Prophet (may peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) and Promised Son of the Promised Messiah, Ḥaḍrat Mirzā Bashiruddin Maḥmūd Aḥmad(ra) came 1335 years after the Holy Prophet : And from the time the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.

The Book of Daniel relates:
Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days. (Daniel, 12:11-12)
Gospel Of Mathew relates that Jesus(pbuh) said:
Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and powers of the heavens will be shaken. (Matthew, 24:29)
The Gospel of Luke relates:
Then said he (Jesus) unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: And great earthquakes shall be in diverse places, and famines and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. (Luke, 21:10-11)
It is shown from the Bible that "A Second Coming" is Metaphorical not Literal.

The re-advent of Elijah (may peace be on him):

The 2nd book of Kings relates:

And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire. And parted them both asunder: and E-li-jah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. (2 Kings 2:11)

The Book of Malachi relates:
Behold I will send you E-li-jah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.(Malachi, 4-5)

John the Baptist came as Elijah:

The Gospel of Matthew relates:
The disciples asked him, “Why then do the teachers of the law say that Elijah must come first?” Jesus replied, “To be sure, Elijah comes and will restore all things. But I tell you, Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but have done to him everything they wished. In the same way the Son of Man is going to suffer at their hands.” Then the disciples understood that he was talking to them about John the Baptist. (Matthew, 11:14)

The Gospel of Matthew relates:
But I say unto you, that E-li-as is come already and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the son of man suffer of them. (Matthew, 17:12)

This shows that a re-advent of person is merely a metaphorical coming and not literal.
